Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians

48th game at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at 8:00pm Indian Standard Time on 8th May

The Sunrisers will be under pressure when they battle against Mumbai Indians in a home fixture to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The robin round stage its quickly reaching its climax as next couple of games by the end of week will decide which four teams make it through to the playoffs of the competition.

The defending champions will want to win this game after losing back to back game against Delhi and then Pune in a space of seven days. David Warner would aim his side to brush up the skills to another level in order to make things little easier for them to secure their place in the last four of the competition. Kane Williamson will once again be crucial as New Zealand ace batsman when delivers, Sunrisers usually come out on top in the game. Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh would also be looking to make an impression as these games are crucial for title holders.

Hyderabad has won six games from 12 games but a couple of defeats from nowhere would land them into serious trouble. Mumbai Indians on the other hand are the first team through to the playoffs as the two-time champions have set a foot wrong this season except losing twice to Rising Pune Supergiants this season. Lendl Simmons did well in the last game while Parthiv Patel, Nitish Rana and Kieron Pollard have done well with the bat for the side. In the all-round department, Pandya brothers in Hardik and Krunal have been crucial for the side achieving many wins this season. Harbhajan Singh and Mitchell McClenaghan have simply been outstanding with the ball for Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma would want to spend more time in the middle as knockout stages are near as round-robin stages will come to closure by 14th May. Hyderabad batting faltered to concede a close defeat by 12 runs against Pune despite having been comfortably placed to win the game with Yuvraj Singh at the crease. The lower order is main weakness as there are genuine tail-enders for Hyderabad from no.8 onwards.

Players to watch out for

Nitish Rana arguably has been the man of the moment for Mumbai Indians this season but in last couple of games the batsman has not done much. Rana has won some close games for Mumbai with the willow as he will be determined to produce a big score for the side to continue their imperious run in the competition.

Kane Williamson will hold key for Sunrisers as he is such technically competent batsman in game of cricket to slay any attack on his day. Williamson will be keen to showcase his best against one of most disciplined bowling attack of the competition. Sunrisers will be hoping he can get big runs for them in this big game.
