The sixth game of Champions Trophy 2017 will be played on 6th June at 15:00 IST.

England will face New Zealand in their second game of the ICC Champions Trophy at Sophia Gardens at Cardiff. Eoin Morgan and co. has already crucial points by winning their first game against Bangladesh at the Oval on 1st June.

Hosts England did kick-started their campaign on a positive note with a comprehensive victory over Bangladesh. Joe Root smashed his tenth ton of his one day career while Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan played with fluency to see England chase down a score of 300 runs against Asian Tigers. The good news for England is that Ben Stokes did bowl in the game and looked fit as he sent down his share of overs. Liam Plunkett bowled brilliantly under the situation when England were a man down as Chris Woakes picked up side strain to see him get ruled out of the game. Jake Ball bowled poorly and might get replaced by Steven Finn or Adil Rashid.

New Zealand started their first game against arch-rivals Australia in the right manner with batsmen showing positive from the start. Luke Ronchi’s promotion to the opening slot was a blessing in disguise as he went on the rampage against the likes of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Kane Williamson led the way with the bat to notch up another spectacular hundred followed by good support by the likes of Ronchi and Ross Taylor.

England do hold the edge as they beat New Zealand in the one day series played in England.
