India vs Sri Lanka -8th game at The Oval Cricket Ground in London

India vs Pakistan

India vs Sri Lanka

The tenth game of Champions Trophy 2017 will be played at The Oval at 15:00 IST.

Favorites and reigning champions India got off to great start to the competition after crushing arch-rivals Pakistan by 124 runs in their first game played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Sri Lanka on the other hand has lost their first game against South Africa and would be keen to bounce back in clash of subcontinent teams in the competition.

India played superbly against Pakistan in the first game and never put a foot wrong in the game in terms of all aspects of the game i.e. batting, bowling and fielding. The batting delivered big time in a high octane as everyone from Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya chipped with scores to see India score 319 runs from 48 overs.  The defending champions won’t mind playing Sri Lanka on a placid pitch at The Oval which will have plenty of runs in store for Indian batsmen. Shikhar Dhawan will be one man looking to score big runs after failing to convert against Pakistan in the first game.

Surprisingly, India left out two of their most experienced bowlers in Ravi Ashwin and Mohammad Shami but they could still into the side if pitch conditions do provide assistance at the tail-end of the competition. Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh dispelled all doubts with regards to their form as they produced stellar performances with the bat to decimate Pakistan with big blows in the reduced 48-over game.

Sri Lanka

The Lankan Tigers will certainly have to play out of their skins if they intend to upstage India in this game. The good news for Sri Lanka is the return of Captain Angelo Matthews for the game as he has recovered from injury. Upul Tharanga will miss the game due to slow-over as he was in-charge of the side in the first game against South Africa. Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal will be ones the side will be hoping that they can score big. Angelo Matthews return to the side provides depth in the batting lineup as it does open up options with the ball in hand. Danushka Gunathilaka. Thisara Perera will come in place of injured Chamara Kapugedera.

Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal bowled well without much against South Africa .Nuwan Pradeep was excellent in the first game but spinners need to bowl better in the middle overs of the innings if Sri Lanka wants to keep India in check in the game.
