Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians
The 22nd game of Indian Premier League 2017 will see Kings XI Punjab host Mumbai Indians at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Kings XI nearly toppled Sunrisers in the previous game due to Manan Vohra blinder of an innings. The big guns in Hashim Amla, David Miller and Eoin Morgan failed in the last game and will need to step up to the plate for Kings XI. Punjab has four overseas batsmen in the lineup which clearly shows the lack of local resources in the batting department. It would be ideal for Punjab to give a go to Matt Henry by dropping one of the four batsmen.
Glenn Maxwell needs to produce a blazing innings with the bat if Kings XI wants to change their fortunes for the rest of the season. Mohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma performed well in the last game while Axar Patel continues to be bankable performer with bat and ball.
On one hand, two-time champions Mumbai are a hot-winning streak as they have strike a right balance to their lineup. Mitchell McClenaghan and Lasith Malinga are potent bowlers upfront in the Power plays. Jos Buttler and Kieron Pollard are getting into the groove by each game they play while Nitish Rana has been highest run getter for the side. Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya have chipped in with great performances so far in the season.
Mumbai are coming into the game on a four match winning streak as it will take some doing from Kings XI to dislodge Rohit Sharma and co off the top place. Mumbai has all the things going their way but Kings XI have the firepower to topple Mumbai if the likes of Maxwell and Miller come good in this game. Will Mumbai rule the roost or Kings XI put their end to a string of defeats with a win in this game.
