Mumbai Indians vs Rising Pune Supergiant
Rising Pune Supergiant take on two-time champions Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the 28th game of Indian Premier League. Pune produced a much needed win against defending champs Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game.
Another positive for Pune was Mahindra Singh Dhoni came back to form as he remained unbeaten for his 61 runs to take his side to victory against a good bowling attack. Mumbai on the other hand will try to make it seven in a row as the side looks unbeatable with batting and bowling firing on all cylinders. It will take a special performance from Pune to dislodge Mumbai at home.
MS Dhoni, Steven Smith and Rahul Tripathi looked in good touch in the last game while Tripathi has certainly turned out to be bankable player with the bat in hand. Imran Tahir continues to pick wickets on a consistent basis for his side while bowling needs to produce better returns if Pune wants to qualify for the playoffs of the league.
Mitchell McClenaghan was star with the ball in previous game while Mitchell Johnson, Hardik Pandya and Jaspreet Bumrah kept a lid on the rate of scoring. New Zealand left arm pacer McClenaghan started the tournament in a poor fashion and has certainly settled into a groove with magical show with the ball in hand. In a Maharashtra derby, Mumbai will try to put on over Rising Pune after later defeated them in the opening game of the season.
Pune will take heart from their last win at Wankhede as a brilliant innings from Ajinkya Rahane helped them secure a nine wicket win last season. Rahane needs to come good if Pune wants to run Mumbai close in this game as batsman needs runs to get back to form as he has looked a little off-color with his batting so far in the tenth edition of Indian Premier League.
