Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils
Shaun Marsh came good with the bat against Sunrisers but could not help Kings XI to win the game while Hashim Amla absence proved to be a big blow for the side who end up on the losing the side. Kings XI will be keen to put in a better all-round show when they host Delhi Daredevils at Mohali in the first game of Indian Premier League to be played on Sunday.
It is must win game for Punjab as they conceded their fifth defeat against Sunrisers this season after failing to chase a target of over 200 runs put by the defending champions. Glenn Maxwell started well with the bat this season but has gradually lost form as the competition has progressed. Australian batsman needs to rediscover form if Punjab wants to make a dash in terms of qualifying for the playoffs of the competition. Marsh clearly voiced his concerns fielding was also poor in the last game but against Delhi they better brush up their skills to come up on top in a game played at home.
Delhi are also lying at the bottom of table with only two wins out of seven games and need to more contributions from the middle order that has not come this season especially Rishabh Pant who has not set the world alight this season despite an impressive run in the last year’s competition. Zaheer Khan might miss the game for Delhi as he suffered an hamstring injury which could mean Amit Mishra leading the side for Delhi.
Last year at the very same ground, the two sides produced a nine baiter as Delhi comfortably placed at once stage fell to a close defeat after Samson fell in the 14th over to see hosts snatch a win from jaws of defeat. Delhi failed to turnaround things as they failed to make the playoffs of the competition last year but could they do something different this season.
