Cricket Betting Tips Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians, 34th Match Live at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore
Kings XI Punjab will look to strengthen their position in points table when they meet Mumbai Indians in IPL 2018 at Indore on Friday. For Mumbai, it is a do-or-die clash as another loss would confirm their exit from play-offs in IPL. Raguram tips takes a look at strengths and weaknesses, prediction of KXIP vs MI clash in IPL 2018 on Friday.
Kings XI Punjab have all-round depth in batting and bowling. They have Chris Gayle, KL Rahul for openers; Karun Nair and David Miller in the middle-order. In terms of bowling, they have Ankit Rajpoot who has bagged two man-of-the-match awards in just three games. Mujeeb ur Rahman and R Ashwin form a good attacking spin pair. Hence, KXIP have all their bases covered.
Punjab are too dependent on Gayle-Rahul pair to give them the blockbuster opening stand. The likes of Aaron Finch, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair have been inconsistent. The foreign imports such as David Miller, Marcus Stoinis are yet to make an impression with the bat. Yuvraj Singh has lost his touch with the bat and he is one of the weak links in KXIP squad.
A team with big batting stars such as Rohit Sharma, Evin Lewis, Pandya brothers, Suryakumar Yadav should make bowlers go weak in their knees. All have scored brilliant fifties, but still the results have not gone Mumbai Indians’ way. Mumbai would have to bat big to knock out KXIP. And in a do-or-die clash, you can expect Mumbai batsmen to fire on all cylinders. The defending champions would not go down without a fight.
Mumbai would rue the close losses that have put them in bottom of points table. Their inability to grab key moments and knock out opposition have hurt them badly. Even in the clash against RCB, their batsmen failed to smash the knockout blow on RCB bowlers who till then had struggled in death overs. Mumbai’s campaign has hit a mental block as evident from their failures to finish off close games.
Gayle has been at his destructive best, smashing one ton and two fifties in four innings. He was brutal on Rashid Khan of Sunrisers Hyderabad and would target another leg-spinner in Mayank Markande of Mumbai. It will be interesting to see who wins this battle between Gayle and Markande. Gayle is on revenge mode and he would look to give Punjab innings the push with his hard-hitting batting. He would have a go at Markande, similar to his onslaught on Rashid Khan. But Mayank will be ready with his bag of tricks.
