Pakistan vs West Indies 2nd T20 Preview, Port of Spain:
The first game of the T20 day series saw West Indies brushed aside easily by Pakistan at Barbados. Hosts will try to turn around things to draw level in the series as clash again against Pakistan in the second game at Port of Spain in Trinidad.
Carlos Brathwaite will under scrutiny as leader of the side as West Indies have poor in the T20 format since their triumph in India in World T20 2016. Brathwaite also failed to live up the expectations after his heroics with the bat in the finals against England. All-rounder will be determined to showcase good showing with bat and ball to shed the tag of being one-hit wonder. He will need the expertise and experience of big players such Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard to pull their weight for the next game after abysmal show in the first clash.
Lendl Simmons and Marlon Samuels are best players of spin in the West Indies lineup as the two will hold key to team’s chances of staging a comeback in the series. We tip Simmons to score 40 plus in this game with Samuels getting 25 plus runs in the innings.
Jason Holder bowled well while Samuel Badree was decent in his first outing after his return to the side. Sunil Narine could play the next game as pitch at Trinidad might require West Indies to field two spinners. Samuel Badree and Sunil Narine will be amongst the wickets in this game
Pakistan will be confident of continuing their unbeaten five match winning streak in the format as the side has not to concede a defeat under new skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam played well in the first game as they chased down a target of 111 runs posted by West Indies. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal are players who can score big for Pakistan and have been proven credentials in the format. Mohammad Hafeez is tipped to score 30 plus runs in this game
Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz’s pace combination seems to be working well at the moment while debutant Shadab Khan fulfilled all the promise to bamboozle West Indies with his leg spin and restrict to a below par score of 111 runs. Imad Wasim could get a game in this one as Sohail Tanvir might miss out as surface will aid spinners. Shadab and Imad will be amongst the wickets.
